How to add YouTube video to the SharePoint 2010 site (SharePoint 2010)

  • How to

    Method 1 - using Content Editor web part.

    1. Go to the SharePoint site page where you want to add a YouTube video.
    2. Click Edit page.
    3. Click the icon Insert at the tab Editing tools and click on the icon Web Part.
    4. Choose Content Editor at the Media and Content category and click the Add button.
    5. Go to the YouTube site, choose the video that you want to add to the SharePoint site page and click the button Share located under the video window.
    6. Click the Embed button under the YouTube video window. Select all the embed code and copy it.
    7. Go to the Content Editor Web Part and click Edit Web Part at the drop-down menu.
    8. Click on the link Click here to add a new content. Or just insert the cursor into the WebPart body.
    9. Click at the HTML drop-down menu and choose Edit HTML Sourse. You can find it on the Ribbon at the tab named Format Text.
    10. Paste the embed code that you have copied from the YouTube site in the step 6 and click OK.
    11. Click OK at the Content Editor Menu.
    12. Go to the Page and click on Edit.
    13. Click Save&Close at the editing page.
    14. Refresh the SharePoint page.

    Method 2 - using HTML Form Web Part.

    1. Go to the SharePoint site page where you want to add a YouTube video.
    2. Click Edit page.
    3. Click the Insert icon at the Editing tools tab and click on the Web Part icon.
    4. Choose HTML Form Web Part at the folder named Form and click the button Add.
    5. Go to the YouTube site, choose video that you want to add to the SharePoint site page and click the Share button located under the video window.
    6. Click the Embed button under the YouTube video window. Select all the embed code and copy it.
    7. Go to the HTML Form Web Part, select it and click Edit Web Part at the drop-down menu.
    8. Delete the existing example of the html code. Add the embed code that you have copied from the YouTube site in the step 6 to the Form Content Editor text box. Click the Apply buttonand then click OK.
    9. Go to the Page tab and click Edit.
    10. Click Save&Close at the editing page.
    11. Refresh the SharePoint page.
